Te Awamutu forrescondrnt. j A very pleasurable even inn was spent I in the Kihikihi Town Hall on Wednes- j day eventr.r'. when a social was tender- I ed to the ladies of Kihikihi by the ! members of the Football Club. A < large number of ladies and gentlemen were present from the surrounding \ district. The social was mede the occasion to present the Kihikihi club, who were the victors in the Waipa district cup matches;, with the cans. Mr F Wood, of Te Awamulu made the | presentation in a happy and humorous [ speech, congratulating the club on j their continued success. Mr W. H. [ Grace also presented the club with a silver mounted ebony shield presented j by him for competition, and won wby j the Kihikihi Football Club. j During the evening songs were con- i tributed by Mrs Baker and Mrs Cross, \ items which were very much appreci- j ated. | Dancing was indulged in to an early hour, music being supplied by Mrs j Gardiner. Supper provided by the \ committee met all the many calls upon its resources, and came in for much favourable comment. As M's.C. Messrs J. Maunder and C. Clifford kept the dancers moving j merrily. j It was with considerable reluctance that the many present brought a most I enjoyable evening to a conclusion. | The footballers are to be congratulated 1 on the success which attended their ■ efforts, efforts that met with universal j appreciation. j
