Resident Correspondent. - Accident. - W. Douglas, an employee at the Waipa Brewery, met with an unfortunate accident ©n Thursday. It appears that Douglas wast carrying half a dozen battles to the cedar, and when going down th*> stairway tripped and fell down a stair or two. The bottles hmfce as he fell and severely lacerated his arm. Dr Henderson did what he could for the sufferer bat it was foond necessary to take Douglas to the Ham' itten Hospital.

The final resolved itself into a match between the east and west end of Te Awamotu. Mr Fred Eyre represented the east, and Mr W. Boyes appeared for the west. Eyre was a hot favourite, bot Boyes upset calculation* by running out a winner by a point. Great rejoicing prevails in the camp of the Philistines. Eyre had extremely hard tuck to lose and notwithstanding that re was conceding bis opponent 15 points he had a lead of 12 with 13 on the table. Boyes secured the last two halls. Boyes pot op a creditable display for a young player.
