As a mark of appreciation by the Campbcll-Ehrenfried Company of the splendid work performed by Superintendent Woolley and his men at the recent Strand Arcade fire, a cheque for £2O has been forwarded by Mr Leo Myers to the sick and accident fun ! of the Auckland Fire Briagde. I;. the covering letter Mr- Myers expresses the opinion that great cm)it was due to the superintendent and members of the brigade fo r staying the progress of the flames from including the adjoining buildings. Tinwork of levelling the interior brickFP?k of the structure is proceeding Rapidly, several masses of the materia) being' brought successfully to earth yesterday, while the process of clearing sway the debris as it collects is also kept well In hand.
