THE WOOL MARKET.

"As instancing the i'utt prices paid by wool fcoyers at last season's wool sales | in Auckland, and to set at rest the doubts of some of the growers that wool sold in the local market does not command foil prices, it is interesting to note the passed-in pricres of certain tots offered locally and afterwards sold in London," asid a gentleman interested in toe wool trade, speaking to a "Herald " representative last week. "Here is a table compiled from information obtained from wool brokers here of No. 2 sale, January, 1909, and No. 3 sale, February 1909. Sold in London May and July series:—l2bales offfered locally 5 3-4 d, sold London Td; 6 bales 6 l-2d, 9d; 5 bales, 5 3-4 d, 6 3-4 d 6 bales 5 l-2d, 7d; 5 bales sl-4d, 8 1-2 d; 4 bales sd, 6 l-4dj 1 bale S l-2d, 6 l-2d; 2 bales 7 l-4d, 8 l-4d; 3 bales 6 l-2d. 7 l-2d; 6 bales iS l-2d, 8 l-2d 4 bales 5 3-4 d, Bd. "The freight and charges until sold in London amount to about Id per lb." be continued, "so that it will be seen, taking into consideration the rise in the market after the Auckland wool sales closed, that prices offered here were better than those ruling in London, at that time. In cases where the wool was of fine quality, in nice, light condition, suitable for America, the difference in price is accounted for by tbe greater advance in tbe market price of gases wools.".
