On Tuesday morning Mrs Bennett, wife of the Rev. F. A. Bennett, died of pneumonia. The deceased lady had been a zealous worker among the Maori congregations at Motueka, Wangauni, New Plymouth, and at Rotorua. She was very highly esteemed by both rßce9, and was only 29 years of age. The Clerk of the Kawhia County Council has been notified by the Treasury that the loan of £2500 for widening and metalling the Awaroa-Mahoe road is now available for expenditure. This is the fifth loan which has b<-en granted to the County Council, bringing the total loan money up to i'fc2sU.
