NGAPAENGA.
(Own Correspondent.) There bas been a good deal of rain in this district of late, also a few heavy frosts, but the latter arc usually followed by fine sunny days, which make the frosts more bearable. The road work here is nearly completed, the men having bad their contracts cut short. This has caused some inconvenience as the men had laid in supplies sufficient to last a good while longer. The Arapae road is at present in an almost impassable state. Mr Mawhinney is building substantial sheep yards upon bis property and it is expected that there will be quite a unmber of wool sheds in tbe district, before next shearing season. Ulessn McAdam and Co. have taken up their residence on their Ngapaenga property, and find that the task of sledging supplies from tbe Mairoa is not an enviable one, tbe mud in places being knee deep.
