CORRESPONDENCE.

4> ~ TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—With regard to the complaint, signed "Geo. J Bevcge," rc telegram I. would like to explain thai 1 did the best I could under the circumstances. The Matron office is out of sight of any person passing on the mad, bat if there had been a chance of sending it as G.J. B. suggessted, J would have done so, as anyone who gets telegrams through this office, can testify. Travellers are no' so thick as G J.B. would have us believe. The P.M. at Te Kuiti was kind enough to inform the sender of the telegram that Pio Pio was the nearest office, also the one tbrcugh which G.J.B. gets his mail, it being three miles to Pio Pio, while Mairoa is five mile# from bis place.—l am, etc., P.IM. Mairoa. July 17th, 1909.
