KING COUNTRY ACCLIMATISATION SOCIETY

A meeting of the above Society was held in Hattaway's Sample Rooms on Thursday evening last. There were 27 members and intending members present. Mr Moorhouse was voted to the chair.,

—Election of Officers. — Proposed by Mr Somsrville.seconded by Mr N. Lusk, that the number of officers of the Society shall be as follows:—1 President, and 7 vice-Presi-dents, one to be elected in each Riding of the County. Amendment proposed by Mr Elliott, seconded by Mr Archer, that there should be only 2 vicc-Presidents. The amendment was lost and the original proposal carried. The following officers were then elected:- President — Mr Moorhouse; Vice-Presidents—»Dr Fullerton and Pepenc Ekctone, Te Kuiti; N. I. Hunt, Pacmako; J. Francis, Mairoa; G. Elliott. Ohura: F.Green, Otorohanga and Hangatiki; W. Johnston. Waitomo. Proposed by Mr Pin?, .seconded by Mr Lorigan. that the words: "within a radius of two miles," be inserted in Rule 12 -Carried. The rules as read, with amendments, were passsed. Resolved that the Rules of the Society be printed in pamphlet form for the benefit of the members.

The meeting closed with a vote of hanks to the Chairman.
