TE AWAMUTU TENNIS CLUB.
♦ Drawing Room Social. Resident Correspondent. The social hold under the auspices of the Te Awamutu Tennis Club on Wedensday evening last proved to be a most enjoyable event, and an immense success. The arrangements were perfect and the promoters have every reason to be pleased with the success of the function. -Quite 200 people wer»» nr»s»ent, hailing from all parts of the district far and near. A very dainty suppnr was provided by the ladies of the Committee, and many willing volunteers. Dancing was indulged in up to an early hour on Thursday morning. During the evening songs were contributed by Mesdames Andrew, Clarke, Woollass. Henderson and Miss Lambert. and met with an appreciative hearing. The music provided by the Te Awamutu orchestra, under the conductorship of Herr Mueller, was of the best. The committee, Mesdames Henderson, Galbraith, and Misses Govern, B. Mandeno. and the secretary, Mr Warburton, were indefatigable in looking after the welfare of their numerous geusts. and it is pleasing to note that through their efforts the funds of the Lawn Tennis Club will benefit to a substantial degree.
