Honieseekers will have an opportunity of securing a desirble section on Wednesday July 28th. when two sections of 4 and 3 acres each in the Ttasdale Settlement will be offered for lease As the rentals are low and the location in proximity to the town, the opportunity should commend itself to those desirous of having an acre or two of their own. —A Hawk Convention. Hawks are very plentiful just now. In a paddock near Hairini a well attended meeting was held the other day. at least 26 representatives of the hawk fraternity being present. The subjects under discussion were several freshly trapped rabbits. A vote of thanks to rabbit trappers was carried unanimously, their thought of providing freshly trapped rabbits daily being highly appreciated. Hawks account for a good many young lambi at lambing time, so these creatures cannot be looked on as desirable guests. —New Sawmill at Pirongia. Mr O'Shea's new sawmill *t Pirongia is now about ready to start cutting This should prove a boon to the neighbourhood, and to farmers residing on the banks of the Waipa. The mill has been built right alongside the river to which a tramway has been made from the bush. This allows timber to be readily shipped, either up or down the stream. —Convalescent. Mr Bridg«man,wh© has been very ill for a couple of weeks is now convalescent. —"Tally Ho I" On Wednesday the Waikato hounds meet again at Pirongia. With pleasant memories of the la*t meet quite a number of enthusiasts are eagerly looking forward to the coming eathertoa> Hunting has taken on in this district, and given decent weather this torn cot wilt prove a larger gathering than the first meet. For the night proceeding the meet,the Pirongia com■nftts* have arranged a dance. —"Tooristing."— If ore swaggers have passed through this w»y wftbhi this last week or two tbsn for months past. Many appear to be of the class who have "left their country for their country's good," and ate lust cot to look at the mountain fteencry—assisted hnmigants probably. —Dancing.— Hiss Tessdale has resumed her dancing class and quite a number of tha young folk axe becoming apt decipfcm of Teoposichore.
