Over forty ladies and gentlemen were present, and cards and music were indulged in. A presentation was made by the ladies of Kawhia, to which the Doctor suitably responded. 1 bear that Mr H. H. Pettit proprietor of the Kawhia Settler, has sold out Ids interest to Mr Schnackenburg, of Raglan. Mr Pettit will he greatly misted from oor midst, as he was always an enthusiast in every thing pertaining to sport, socials, etc. He has done much towards the advancement of the district, and we wish btm all tack in bis new sphere. —The Roads.— The roads in oor district are showing their winter coats just now, especially where the new formation has been made, bat after a winter's paddling they sboaJd be more consolidated.
