OBITUARY

Great rtgrtt was felt throughout the whole district at the news of the dt-ath of Mrs Stevens Ridile of Kaeaea, which occurred on Sunday, Jane 20th. The lamentable occurrence took place with startling suddenness. Everything possible waa done it* tn# way of medical attendance but withowt avail. The deceased tady, who was only 20 years of age, was the Jaughtrr of Mr Bowman,, a respected resident of Kihikihi Decceased was interred at Aria en Tuesday last, the funeral being attended by alt the settlers in the neighbourhood.
