CORRESPONDENCE.
! TO Tin; EDiTOR. Sir, In connection with the post \ office matter? at Kaeaea, kindly allow me to say that I think nothing could be more conternptable and mean than \ to see settlers writing anonymous letI ters about the late postmaster at Kaeaea. who has given his daughter's services for 12 months free, and all the thanks for the same is abuse by letters, written by people who arc too ashamed to put their own names to them. Now, sir, I heard Mr Elwood give it out at a public meeting that he would not keep the post office going much longer, and they had better look out for another place, and I could mention another 5 persons who were' present at the same meeting. Another thing about the matter is that Mr Elwood was quite within his rights in closing the post office. Fancy offering the miserable pittance of Is lOd per week for the work. It was worth more than that to clean the mud out of the bouse every mail night. I am, etc.,. F. BREDENRECK.
