"THE IRISH DETECTIVE."
The Phil. Walsh Dramatic Company staged the above sensational comedydrama in the public hall on Friday evening last, to a moderately large audience. Pbil. Walsh ns Arthur Tracy. "The Irish Detective." was great. He took the role of six different characters, and proved himself an adept in assuming tbem. His disguise as Mrs an apple woman, and toe* witticisms at the expense of "The Stoocbcr." and others, canscd roars of laugh*tr. Miss Eva MariusPaigne. as Grace Hoyte. an Am rican girt, was especially well received, and an encore was demanded for the rendering of a song by ber. "The S toucher." who revived the memory of the Bums-Johnson right, and was always on the alert to "stouch" someone, and also Adolpbus Tiverton, of "tbat-don't-signify-at-ail" fame, were comic parts which brought down th»> bouse. The remainder of the company acted their parts creditably, and those who saw "The Irish Detective" were well pleased with the evening's rntcrtainment. We hope to see this company here again shortly.
