HOCKEY.
A meeting of the Hockey Club was held last evening in Mr E. Kerr's commercial room. There was a good attendance, and considerable interest was manifested by those present regarding the prospects for the coming season. Mr A. S. Gresham was voted to the chair.
The report and balance sheet were presented, the balance sheet showing a debit of £4 4s 2d.
The subscription for the season was fixed at ss,and twenty-one names wen handed in for membership. The following officers were elected: Patron —MrF. Darrow. Vice-President —Mr J. Nicholson. Committee - Messrs Davidson, McColl, Gresham, Spragg and Kirk, in addition to the vice-president and secretary. Captain —Mr Kirk. Mr McColl was appointed as coach to the team. It was decided to open the season with a game on Thursday, May 13th. There is every prospect of the game being well supported during the season, and the Club expects to be able to put two teams in the field.
