Mr Ormsby. in a short reniy. recurred thanks and stated his task had been greatly lightened by the ready tance he had received front the head- — " master. j The election of a committee v.-as then | proceeded with,and the following were Selected: —Messrs Ormsbv. Sims. Mej Naught, Chilcott. Dilliear. cwohclsom i and Matthew. The committee immedij ately met for the purpose of electing a j chairman, Mr F. H. Sims be ins unanii mously chosen. Various matters were drought before the committee by the Headmaster, including the necessity of raising the floor of the shelter shed; the erection of a shed for storing coal and ether articles. It was decided t: v.-rite to the Board of Education with reference to obtaining a grant fcr the erection of the storage -:hed. T'ith reference to the floor of th-_- shelter shed, i: was decided that Mr Man oof '■:. ? asked for a price for the work, the matter of ar- -- ranging to be left to the Chairman. The procuring of a coal supply and the erection of a rack for cade: rides were left in the hands of the Chairman to deal with. Oa the motion of Mr Cloileott, seconded by Mr Ormsocn a vcte of thanks was accorded to Mr "Vaish. manager of Wilson's Limeworks. for the donation of a truck of screenings for the school and schoolhouse grounds. Technical Classes : .-_ letter was received from the Education Department with reference to the capitation grant earned by the school for hard work classes. The letter was -;- response to an application that the capitation money should be paid ::■ the Committee instead of being enpended by the Director cf the Technical School a: Auckland, and stated that the payment of capitation money was made by the Department on claim- mad ■ by the controlling authority in the district and knew of nothing in the Act empowering them to pay the grant direct to the Committee. It was decided to hold committee meetings on the teuton lionday in each month.
