FIRE BRIGADE MEETING.
•• • ❖ A meeting of the Te Kuiti Fire Brigade was held at the "Chonicle" office on Wednesday evening. There were present: Mr Phillips, in the chair, and Messrs Chilcott, Waters, Ford, Nicholson, Pitcon and Fortescue, The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved, - Report of Finance Committee. —■ Mr Chilcott, the only member of the finance committee present, reported that he had, to date, received promises amounting to £2O lis 6d. Proposed by Mr Fortescue, seconded by Mr Ford, that the report be adopted. -Carried. Proposed by Mr Nicholson, seconded by Mr Chilcott, that the names of Messrs Fortescue and Phillips be added to the finance committee. —Carried. Proposed by Mr Chilcott, seco~.cer by Mr Waters, that a social, in a::. the Brigade funds, be held on Men nay. May 24th,and that the secretary be instructed to engage the Hak f:r date.—Carried. Resolved that Messrs Ph:..i" : cutt, Waters, Ford and the Secretary, be appointed a sub-committee *.. ' arrangements for the social. Proposed by Mr Nicholson, seccr.de;: by Mr Pitcon, that the Secretary write to the United Fire Brigade Association asking for full particulars re ation with the Association. —Reso.wee that the Secretary of the Fire Brigace Association be written to asking upon what terms the manual engine with all accessories can be obtained.
Proposed by Mr Chilcott. seconded by Mr Ford, that the number of members be limited to 25.—Carried.
Resolved that Mr Hewer b* elected a member of the brigade.
