FOOTBALL.
Attention is directed to the fact that the Maniapoto Rugby Union meeting is to be held tonight. A full attendance is expected as matters of importance in connncction with the ensuing season's programme are to be discussed.
Ti Awamutu Football Club. The annual meeting of the Te Awamutu Football Club was held in the Te Awamutu Hotel on Saturday evening, aboot 35 footballers attending. Mr H. P. Edgecumbc occupied the chair. The balance sheet which showed a credit balance of £l4 9s 6d, was adopted as read. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows: -Patron Mr 11. J. Greenslade, M.P. President Mr Wm. Taylor. Vice-Presi-dendts same as last year with the addition of Messrs Rider and H. J. Jones. Secretary and Treasurer—S. H. West, re-elected. CommitteeMessrs Cunningham, West, Donner, Patton and War burton. The election of captain and vice-captain was left over until just before the first match.
It was decided to leave the selecting of the first team in the bands of the committee, and that the selection committee be elected by the first team and comprise the captain, the secretary and one other.
Messrs.F. Bowden, and S. H. West, being non-players were appointed delegates to the Waipa Rugby Union. The subscriptions for both juniors and seniors were fixed at 2s 6d.
It was decided to hold the first practice next Saturday, 24th inst.
