TAUMARUNUI TOWN COUNCIL.
The Council he-h.l a meeting last Wednesday. Pre;:.-;: Crs Ward, Laird, Sarah ar.ci Fittcner. The Health Inspector, Mr Bennett, reported that hj: his opinion the district was in a health;- condition, but he condemned the practice of people dumping rubbish a: places rot set apart for such purposes.—lt -.vas unanimously resolved that immediate- action be taken upon complaints regarding the sanitary service. The condition of the Matapuna road was discussed, and a resolution was passed that the matter be laid before Mr Julian, Road Engineer. It was decided that a rate of 3d in the £ be struck for general maintenance and expenditure. On the motion of Cr. Fletcher, it was resolved that the Native Land Board be asked for an advance of £2OO of the intended loan. The Council is now entitled to the subsidy due according to the Municipal and Loans to Local Bodies Act, and application will be made immediately.
