Affected trees mast be cut well back at pruning and all suckers and pruning* burnt. Spray with lime sulphur and salt, or red oil emulsion in winter and give at least two sprayings before bods swell. SOlba unslaked lime, 201bs sulphur, lSlbs coarse salt, 60 gallons water. Plnce 101b lime and 201bs of sulphur in an iron vessel and boil for 1J hours in 16 gallons of water. Slake remainder of lime with hot water- and add the salt whilst slaking. Add this to boiling mixture and boil for half an boor longer. Make up to sixty gallons with fairly hot water. Strain through hcssian and apply with coarse nozzle.
