(Own Correspondent.) A meeting of settlers from the sorounding districts was held in the Gov. eminent Wbare on Saturday, April 3 to discuss the advisability of forming • Railway League to watcb the interests of the district in tbe proposed connection of Kawbia Harbour wttb the Main Trunk line. Mr E. C. Stanley pressed, and consideration of business of previous meeting was attended to. Considerable discussion eventuated over the question of forming the league and the advantages to district, prospect* of feeding tho line when vojtstntetad, were well gone into, and It was unanimously decided to form a Railway League having for its objectts the linking op of Kawhia Haroor and the Main Trunk line, and also to assist Mokaoiti-Waitewbena Railway League to secure the deviation from tbe proposed route of tbe Strat-ford-Ongarue line, and for the Kawbia line to connect at Pio pio. Tbe visit of the Minister of. Ryad* a|Mt Bridges to £awbja interfered with fbe attendeance as advantage was |aken of bis presence in the district to place the needs of tbe settlers before him.
