OTOROHANGA POLICE COURT.
- - Tuesday, March 16th, 1909. Before Mr C. J. Johnson, J.P. J. McCann, T. Cowley, B. Clarke, T. Clarke, J Burnand, and N. Kahu g were charged that on February 21, they did furiously ride horses in Kanawa street. Defendants pleaded guilty, and as these were the first cases of this kind that had come before the Court, they were each convicted and fined Is and costs 7s. William Morgan and Kohatu were also charged with same offence, and pleaded not guilty. After hearing evidence of Police and two witnesses they were convicted. Morgan was fined 5s and costs 17s 3d; Kohatu £s 6d and 17s 3d costs. In future any cases of this kind will be more severely dealt with. Before Messrs W. Vicary and C. <£, Johnson, J's.P. A boy aged 10 years named Te Nika Pureant was charged with stealing the snm of five pounds from Te Para Komanga. He pies dec guilty ar.d was convicted and discharged with a caution.
