STRATFORD - MAIN TRUNK RAILWAY.
♦ Ministerial Inspection. In connection with the StrntfonJMain Trunk Railway it is understood that the matter of deciding a point of connection at the Main Trunk line rests with the Minister for Public Works. The Minister intends making a personal inspection of the different routes that have been suggeted and wilt arrive at Ongarue this evening, leaving for Maticre on Friday morning. The following telegram, which has been received by Mr Mussen, Secretary of the Tc Kuiti brach of the Farmers' Union, conveys an idea of the projected tour.: "I find that I shall be able to inspect the Stratford-Onga-rue railway route and suggested deviation on prscent tour will beat Ongarue to-morrow afternoon by ordinary train, and will drive from there to Maticre on Friday morning, and, if possible, continue through Mokau and Aria to Te Kuiti. R.McKcnzie." A similar message was received by Mr G. Elliott on behalf of the MokauWaitcwhma R-iilway League.
