CRICKET.

On Saturday last the members of the Taumarunui Cricket Club paid a visit to Tc Kuiti, an i played the local eleven. Play began at 10.30 a.m., and luncheon for the players was provided on the ground. During the afternoon tea was dispensd by Mesdames Phillips and Rouse, and was greatly appreciated. The visitors battiog first put up a total of 79 and Tc Kuili put on 73. In the second innings Taumarunui scored 113, leaving Te Kuiti with 119 to get. The local men failed to respond and were all out for the moderate score o" 61, victory resting with the visitors by 58 runs.
