A Held day was to be held a Kakah on Wednesday last in connection wit! the Rifle !Club. but f owing to beinf transferred from Auckland district t< Wellington, a misunderstanding arose and the arrangements in connect ioi with the function were not completed However, a detachment consisting ol six membsrs of the Kiokio Clobvisitet Kakahi on the day appointed and were received by the local clubjtnembers. The greatest possible hospitality wa« extended to the visitors, and everyhing possible was done to make the visit an enjoyable one. A six a side match was arranged and was fired oil on the local range. The following are the scores: Kakahi. Rifleman W. Olsen, 84; Rifleman G. McDonald. 80; Rifleman T. Endries, 74; Captain W. Daly. 73; Rifleman J. Beattie. 66; Rifleman P. Mcintosh. 64; total, 441. Kiokio. Captain W. J. Worthington. 73; Rifleman W. Wylie, 71; Rifleman P. Ogle, 55; Rifleman £. Forster. 52; Rifleman F. D. Danks. 46; Rifleman P. Ells. 43; total. 310. During the visit it was arranged to organise a conference of Rifle Clubs for the purpose of discussing and placing on a proper matter* in connection with the various clubs. The time and place of tbe conference will be decided upon later.
