Army Meat Contract Referring to the War Office placing a conract for tinned meat wfth a Chicago firm, the newspapers state that this was due to the colonial packers' inability to supply the quantity and quality required. The representatives of the colonial packers state that tbey had not tendered owing to their objection to the replacement clause. The War Office, however, intends shortly to invite tenders for the supply of half a million pounds of tinned meat for delivery in autumn.
