The entries for the forthcoming meeting of the South Auckland Racing Club constitute a record, close on two hundred and fifty nominations having been received by the Secretary, Mr W. I. Conradi. A large proportion of the horses entered are really good performers, and some excellent racing may confidently be looked for on both days of the meeting. The timber cut at the Kakahi Government sawmill to June 18, 1908, was 9,300,000 superficial feet, and the cost of cutting was £35,440.
