MAIN TRUNK LINE.
Through Service. The through service on the Main Trunk line between Auckland and Wellington is to be initiated on February 14th. Approximately the trains are to leave Wellington at 11.30 a.m. (arriving at Auckland at 7 a.m. on the following day), ani depart from Auckland at 8.30 p.m. (reaching Wellington at 4.30 p.m. next day), but these times are only tentative, and various factors may yet cause a slight readjustment. Sleeping cars are to be provided for the service, and though all of them are not likely to-be ready by the middle of next month, some will be on the road. A fee (probably 10s) will, be charged for the privilege of lying at ease when "on the wing." Whatever the charge is, it will be" uniform, for the "sleepers' ? will be all of one class. The ordinary fares single will be 2l"s 2d for'se<?ond-clais>, and 39s Id for first-class, to which the sleeping-«car charge will be added.
