Tom Longboat, the Canadian-Indian long distance runner, von a 25 mile xace at Buffalo last week. Dorando, the famous Italian runner, was one of the competitors, but he collapsed when entering upon the 19th mile. A fresh record for a hundred metres (108 yds) has been established by R. E. Walker, the South African amateur sprinter, who ran the distance in 10 2-5 seconds.
