An estimate of the yields from the Mew Zealand harvestof 1910 has been prepared, with the average under cereals as on December 10th. A farther interim report will be issued next month. Taking wheat at 4s a bushel, at the port of shipment—and this is a low estimate (if a- high price for wheat) —it will mean that the estimated surplus for 1910 of four millions and a half bushels will bring in £900,000 to the Dominion. The estimated yield is 11,020,900 bushels of wheat, or an average of 35 bushels to the acre. There are now 311,000 acres * under wheat, and last year there wens 252,391 acres down in wheat, yielding 9,772,799 bushels, or an average of 34.75 bushels per acre. The surplus exported last year was over two million bushel 3. Oats show a decrease in acreage of 26,905 acres, with a cor- _ responding of 1,136,288 ' bushels.
