PAEMAKO.

(Own Correspondent.) The election caused little excitement here during the day, but at night, numbers of interested settlers congregated at the post office to hear the results as they came through by wire. The district is now looking well, and there is good growth everywhere. The shearing season was commenced last week, and by this time it is in full swing. The roads in this locality are now in a good state, and the main road from To Kuiti out, should soon be lit for vehicular trr.ffic. As soon as this is so, the waggons will commence running again. The Paemako road, connecting Paemako and YVairere, only requirccabout a mile or so of construction to enable settlers to use it. It is hoped that it will scon be completed so that it may be opened for use, and so save people the roundabout journey of getting to Wairere, as has to be taken at present.
