CORRESPONDENCE.

♦— TO THE EDITOR.

Sir,—A false report is circulated here concerning Mr Jennings, who is reported to have said, at Matiere, that he would stand or fall with Settlers there re the railway deviation. I have wired to Mr Jennings for an explanation, and he informs me that what he did say was that he had to stand or fall with the decision of the Government, and their engineers. In justice to Mr Jennings, kindly publish this in your next issue.—l am, etc., P. O'DWYER.
