[SV TkLEORAPIi], * Thufrsday^ The first reading of the Ohura County Bill was in the House by Mr. Jennings yesterday. An objection was raised by Mn J.. Allan that the standing orders had not been complied with, and after some discussion the Bill was referred to the Local Bill's Committee, the objection being overruled by the House. Petitions from the Ohura Settlers' Association were presented to the Minister for Lands to-day by Mr Jennings, requesting the more" rapid * throwing open of town, and suburban sections at Mahgaroa, as well as the drainage of the township. The Minister for Education informs Mr Jennings that grants for schools at Tatu, Mangapehi and Kakahi have been authorised to the Auckland Board of Education. r The Premier informs members olf House that electoral rolls and forms for enrolment, wi'th envelopes (postal free) are placed in every postal, and public place throughout the various electorates.
