The recent spell of dry weather has had the effect of drying up the roads in the district, and highways which at this season are usually quagmires are now quite good for horse traffic. The Awakino road however, is maintaining its reputation as the "worst in the country" and in places is impassable for waggons, three of which were hopelessly bogged about six miles from Te Kuiti this week. The reason for the vehicles being stuck up is that the mud has become partly dried and is consequently harder to get through than when thoroughly soft.

The cost, .-if installing- a small pl;::.r ■ lul.-r these circumstances is very small and is v<.:\\ worth the consideration rf every dairy farmer. J. B. McEwan and Co..
