The monthly meeting of the above branch of the Mew Zealand Farmers' Union was held in Mr F. Fllwood's residence at K'aeaea, on Saturday, the I ;th iust.. Mr F.llwooij presiding.
Messrs ivirncii .1 n-1 Stewart were proposed as now members. The necessity of making (ho meetings more interesting was spoken of bv tiie Secretary. ;:n 11 several propusals were put forward. Mr R. Kcighloy's suggestion, to institute a series of debates, in whieh non-mem-bers should be allowed to take part, was considered a good one. and was decided upon. The Kxccuiive Committee were deputed to, arrange subject. vVC.
On account oi" the schoolroom being in use on Saturdays, it was decided to meet, in future, en Wednesdays, when that building would be available. It was also decided to discontinue the practise of meeting monthly, and the Secretary was empowered to call a meeting of the branch when occasion arose.
