The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd.. report : At Cambridge, on Friday. June sth, an extra, large number oi cattle were brought forward, and we yarded over /OO head. The beef pens contains! 120 head, mostly prime quality sieers and heifers. Competition was bru-k throughout, everything selling at the hammer or afterwards, excepting one pen. The best steers realised from £7 16s to £9 7s 6d ; lighter weights and others not finished £5 15s to £7 ss; prime young cows and heifers, £5 18s to £6 10s ; aged cows, £4 5« to £4 I2s 6d. A large entry of 2li to 3-year-old steers and calves sold readily. Several buyers from Te Puke, Kawhia, Morrinsvillc and neighbourhood competing briskly for each, only a few two-year-old steers being reserved. Fresh-conditioned 3lj-year-old steers realised from £5 10s to £6 ss; 2%-year-old steers, £3 16s to £4 8s ; low conditioned 3-year-old steers, £3 18s to £4 9s; 18-month to 2-year steers, £2 10s to £3 6s; strong good calves, £l 2s to £1 8s ; others, 16s to 19s; weedy calves, lis to I2s 6d; I fresh-conditioned cows and heifers, £2 8s to £3 10s ; store cows, £1 12s 6d to £2 ; 18-month to 2-year heifers. £l 10s to £2 2s ; dairy cows and heifers due to calve in July and August, £3 5s to £4 /s 6d. Pigs in brisk demand, slips £1 to £1 lOs. Active 3-year-old colt, £l6.
