ihe New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report: — Wc held our winter sale at Te Kuiti on Wednesday last, when 400 head of cattle and Soo sheep were yarded. There was a good attendance of buyers from Te Puke, Waikato and all parts of the King Country, and although bidding was dull at the hammer, when buyers and sellers were brought together everything changed hands except three pens of heifers. Grown steers, in!good condition, made from £4 15s to £5 IOs; 2/->-} v ear steers, £3 12s 6d to £4 ; 18months to 2-year steers (in brisk demand. £2 lOs to £3 55, according to quality; fresh-conditioned cows; £2 7s 6d to £3 3s ; calves, I/s to £1 5sSheep. —All wethers yarded were sold after the sale from 9s to 13s Qd ; shorn hoggets (small), ss; mixed ewes, 9s. Several horses were offered, and the competition was good. Strong harness sorts up to 20s ; ponies to £4 lOs.
The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report: —_ On June 2nd we held a clearing sale at Mr T. Hunt's farm, Matiere. About 300 head of cattle fronroutside sellers were aiso offered. Prices all round were fair and most of Mr Hunt's stock was quoted at fairly good prices. Dairy cows brought from £3 7s 6d to £5 5s ; heifers in calf, £3 to £3 ss; calves, 21s; 18months to two-year-old steers, £6 lOs ; fat heifers, £4 I2s ; empty store cows and heifers, £2.
