j -- j The Farmers' Co-operative AucI tionecring Co., Lid , report: — | AtOhaupo, last Tuesday, we yarded 600 head of cattle, 400 being 2 to ! 4-ycar steers. There was_ a good attendance, and prices firm for ireshconditioned 3 to 4-year steers, _ but younger sorts were not required. Forward 4-year steers, i.6 4s to £7 Is ; 3 and steers, £4 its to £5 I7s ; 2 and steers, £3 14s to £4 7s; 2-year empty heifers, £3 ss; fresh empty cows,- £3 ; fat and forward conditioned cows, £3 17s to £4 ss; store cows, £2 to £2 95; good calves, 24s 6d; younger sorts, lis. On Wednesday last we held our annual sale at Ohaupo of sheep for turnip stocking, when 10,600 sheep were penned, comprising 5,600 wethers, 2,200 ewes, and 2,800 lambs. There was a good attendance, and ruling prices were maintained. Fat hoggets, woolly, 12s to 13s 3d ; forward woolly hoggets, 8s 4d to 9 s 9^others, less condition, 7s to 73 9d ; shorn hoggets, 7s 9d to 9s 4d ; one line particularly choice, mostly ewe hoggets, 10s 7d; cull hoggets, 4s id to 5s 6d; sound mouth in lamb, 10s 6d to 13s 9d ; fullmouth ewes, 17s to 9s; cull ewes, 4s 9d to 5s 2d ; empty ewes, 12s 4d to 14s 6d ; fat wethers, 18s to £l Os 6d; forward wethers, 16s to 17s 9d ; less condition, 14s 5d to 15s 2d ; store wethers, ios to 12s; with the exception of half-a-dozen pens of sheep, all were sold under the hammer. At Morrinsville last Friday we yarded 1,700 sheep, and 264 cattle. There was a large attendance, ruling prices for beef and sheep were maintained, stores being dull. Fat steers, £8 to £9 10s ; lighter weights, £7 to £7 I2s 6d. Fat cows, £4 8s to £5 7 s 6d ; forward cows, £4; 3~y ear steers, £4 15s; 2-year steers, £3 15s to £4 Is; 18-month steers, £2 15s ; 2-year heifers in calf, £2 to £3; store cows, 39s to £2; good calves, 255; others, 18s to 20s 6d ; springing cows, £4 2s 6d to £5 15s. Heavy fat wethers, 19s 6d ; fat and forward wethers, 16s 5d to 17s 6d; fat ewes, 13s 3d to 16s 6d; fat lambs, lis to I2s 6d : forward lambs, 7s 9d to 9s lid ; store lambs, 6s id ; 300 two-tooth to full-mouth ewes in lamb, 16s to 16s 3d ; cull ewes, 2s 6d ; fresh full-mouth ewes in lamb, 12s. We also sold D.S. buggy, £22 ios; D.F. plough, £lO 10s; waggon, £l4 IOs; disc harrows, £4 15s; draught mare, £2B. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, report as follows : On Wednesday, May 13th, we held a clearing sale at Hautapu on account of Mr William Selby. There was a large attendance of buyers from Te Kuiti, Morrinsville, and neighbourhood, who competed briskly for everything, and we report a successful sale. The 2 and 2%-year steers realised from £3 15s to £4 ss, 18-month steers £2 ios to £2 14s, fresh-conditioned cows £2 ios to £3 3s, yearling steers £2 ss, dairy cows £4 lOs to £7 12s 6d. Sheep. Fat sheep 17s 6d, ewes in lamb 14s gd, fat lambs 13s. Horses. Medium draught geldings £2B to £32, harness gelding £ls. Implements, etc. — Double buggy £lB, single buggy £2O, harness £2 15s, drays £4 to £6 15s, d.f. plough £5, s.f. ploughs £l 15s to £3, tine harrows £2 to £3 lOs. The balance of farm implements, tools, furniture, etc., all realised good prices. Stack of hay £ll lOs. On behalf of other clients we sold a medium draught gelding for £2B, a medium draught mara £2B, and two mares and foals at £27 lOs and £32. At Hamilton yards on Thursday, May 14th, fat steers, light weights, realised £7 ss, fat heifers and young cows £4 17s 6d to £5 12s, aged cows £4 5s to £5 ss, fresh - conditioned heifers £3 3s to £3 Bs, store cows £l I2s 6d to £2, good calves 18s to 24s 6d, others I2s to 17s, choice heifers at profit £4 ios to £7, good cows a few weeks off calving £4 5s to £4 17s 6d. Sheep. —Fat ewes 16s 6d to 17s Bd, fat lambs lis to 12s 6d. Pigs Young pigs 5s to 9s, slips I2s to 18s. On Friday, May 15th, at Ngaruawahia, we yarded 600 cattle and 1000 sheep and lambs. The grown steers were mostly from 2V2 to 3-years old. Competition was brisk for this class at the hammer, and several lots were reserved, but when buyer and seller were brought together, all were sold, with the exception of about 3 pens. Well-bred 2% to 3-year steers realised £4 5s to £5 2s 6d, fresh-condi-tioned 3-year steers £6 6s to £6 12s 6d, 2-year steers £3 7s 6d to £4, yearling to 18-month steers £2 4s to £2 lis, mixed yearlings £1 7s 6d to £1 15s, strong good calves 18s to 24s 6d. others I2s 6d to 16s, fresh-condi-tioned cows and heifers £2 15s to £3 I2s 6d, fat cows £4 17s to £5 12s 6d, dairy cows at profit £6 to £8 2s 6d. Sheep.—All sold : fat and forward wethers 17s 6d, store wethers 14s 3d, woolly lambs 75 3d to Bs, cull lambs 5s to 6s 6d, aged ewes in lamb 9s 8d to ios ; fat wethers 18s 6d. Dalgety and Company, Limited, report as follows : —■ Last week we held a clearing sale at Tauwhare on account of Mr Maurice Eyre, there being a large attendance of buyers from all the surrounding districts. Everything sold at satisfactory prices with the exception of the horses, which were in poor demand. A waggon realised £ls, and a spring cart £l2, drill £22 ios, d.f. plough £ll, 2 to 2*2~year steers brought £3 12s 6d, 2 to 3-year heifers averaged £2 17s 6d, dairy cows averaged £5 iSs 6c!, I draught horse brought £26, Sight horses sold from £8 15s to £l7 ios.
