STOCK SALES.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, report as follows : We held our third sheep fair at Ohaupo on Monday, April 13th, when they yarded 11,500 sheep and lambs. A good atttendance of buyers came from all parts of Waikato, Morrinsville, Matamata, King Country, Raglan and Lower Waikato districts, and we report a successful sale. The Improved prices for lambs continue, every pen selling at the hammer. Good framed Wethers and all sound mouthed good ewes sold well throughout, and at the conclusion of the sale only 500 2 tooths and a few pens of aged ewes remained unsold. Fat lambs realised lis 6d to 13s 9d; good conditioned woolly lambs, 9s to lis; cull lambs, 5s 6d to 8s ; good woolled 4 tooth wethers, 16s to 17s 6d; close woolled forward wethers, 14s 6d to 15s ; 4, 6, and 8 tooth ewes, 14s 9d to 15s ; sound mouth ewes, 12s 6d to 14s; others, 7s 6d to 10s; cull lines 5s to 6s 6d; 2 tooth ewes, 13s 9d to 15s; 2 tooth wethers, 13s to 14s Qd, fat ewes, 12s 6d to l(js 6d. Sixty rams offered, but met with a poor demand —2 and 4 tooth Leicester and Romney rams, I to iMgs ; aged rams of all breeds, 8s to 15s. At Pukekohe on Wednesday there was a good muster of stock of all descriptions, which met with -a ready sale at late rates. We quote—Dairy cows, from £4 5s to £9 5s ; do., heifers, £3 10s to £7 ; empty cows, £1 18s to £3 2s. The advertised grown steers were a well-bred lot, but small, and sold at from £4 3s to £6 2s. Two-year-old steets realised £2 2s to £2 I2s ; yearlings, £l lOs to £2 ;■ calves, 15s to £1 4-S. Beef, of which there was a gftod muster, sold higher than i Newmarket rates. The Newmarket Yards on Tuesday were well filled with cattle of all descriptions. Dairy cows sold at from £3 ios to £6; heifers; £3 5s to £4 I£s, 6d ; empty cows, £2 to £3 £s ; calves, 15s to £1 Bs. There waa' a full yarding of beef, \vl3ioh sold at advanced . rafcgs, oxen Realising to 24s and cows 20s to 22s per- ioolb. Steers brougtft £6 lbs to £ll l/s .6d; caws, £4 5s to £B. The quality of the cattle was good, and competition keen: Wethers realised from 15s 6d to £l 6s 6d. Ewes 13s 6d to £l 3s 6d. Lambs were in full supply, and weli fatted sole 1 , a\ from 14s 6d to 19s - sorts, 8s to I2s 6d.
