FOOTBALL.
Maniap.csto Rugby Union. The annual meeting of the Maniapoto Rugby Union was held in Mr E. Kerr's boardinghouse, Te Kuiti, 011 Saturday evening last. There were present delegates from from ail the affiliated clubs, and Mr G. Elliott was voted to the chair. The annual report and balance sheet were presented by the Secretary (Mr E. A. Power) and adopted as read. The balance sheet showed a credit balance of £2. The Nehenehenui Club was admitted to the Union. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year : —Patron, Mr J. T. Hetet; President, Mr H. Mordaunt; Vice-Presidents, Messrs V. S. Hattaway, J. Anthony. Pepene Eketone, H. Hetet; Secretary and Treasurer, Mr E. A. Power; Selector, Mr J. Steel. It was decided to play three rounds for the caps, the first games to be played on May 16th. The draw for the first round resulted as follows : May 16th —Te Kuiti v. Piopio at Te Kuiti; Oparure v. Nehenehenui at Oparure. May 23rd —Piopio v. Oparure at Piopio; Te Kuiti v. Nehehehenui at Te Kuiti. May 30th — Piopio v. Nehenehenui at Piopio ; Te Kuiti v. Oparure at Oparure. Piopio Football Club. The annual meeting of the above Club was held in the Miroahuiao Hall on Saturday, April nth, when there was a good number of footballers present. Mr G. Elliott was voted to the chair. The balance sheet, which showed a small credit balance, was read and adopted. The subscription for the ensuing year was fixed at 3s 6d. A slight alteration was made in the colours, black knickers being substituted for white. The Club's colours will now be all black." It was decided to affiliate with the Maniapoto Rugby Union, provided that no extra travelling was necessary. The following officers were elected : President, R. Bailey, Esq.; VicePresidents, Messrs R. Fitzpatrick, V. S. Hattaway, N. B. Lusk, T. Gordon, E. Were, B. Cochrane, T. Wetere : Secretary and Treasurer, G. Elliott > Committee, Messrs G. Elliott, J. Anderson, J. Cleaver, P. Coburn and Kehu. A practice is to be indulged in by the Te Kuiti team on Saturday afternoon, and all players are requested to meet at Rlr E. Kerr's boardinghouse at 2 p.m.
