FOOTBALL.
The approach of football season is heralded by club meetings, and a general activity among the lovers of Rugby throughout the district. Followers of the game at Te Kuiti have already taken steps to prepare for the coming season, and a meeting was held on March 21st, at Mr J. T. Hetet's residence for the purpose of forming a Maori Foorohll Club. There was a good attendance and it was decided ro form a club, composed of Maori and half-caste players, to be called the Ngatirora Club. It was resolved to affiliate with the Maniapoto Rugby Union.f The following officers were elected : Patron, Mr J. T. Hetet; President, Mr H. Hetet; Vice-presidents, Messrs G. Hetet, J. Turner, Pepene Eketone, Hiri, Pohe, Taonui, Ngaronga, H. Puni, Koro, Ratutonu, Rewatu, T, King, Ngofy, Rata, C:. Sear-ancke, and J, Qrmsby. The Club ah-eady has a large membership, and the following have been picked to play against all comers on Saturday next: —■ Full-back, Rou Rata; three-quarters, J.Taylor, J. Hetet, H. Hetet; five-eights, G. M. Poutawera ; half, T. Hetet ; wings, H. Poutawera, T. Anderson y forwards, Rako, Huiatahi, H. Turner, Tohe Searancke, B, Anderson, D. Turner, W. Wallace. Emergencies,. W. KSO and T. Hetet.
