Te Kuiti Branch.
A meeting of the executive of the Te Kuiti branch of the N.Z. Farmers' Union took place on Tuesday evening in Mr Mussen's office. A good deal of correspondence from the provincial secretary was read and discussed- A letter was received from the Otorohanga branch notifying the loss that farmers in portions of the Waitomo County had sustained by having sheep stolen, and asking for co-operation in applying to the Government requesting the immediate appointment of a special eonstable or stouk detective. —Resolved that the letter be brought up for discussion at the annual meeting. After some discussion it was proposed by Mr Boddie, seconded by Mr |y[, AMackenzie, " That in the opinion of this branch the time has arrived when the Provincial District should be divided, and that the Provincial Executive be urged to take the necessary steps to have §airte approved at the Colonial Conference."
