TE KUITI LIBRARY.

A meeting of the Library Committee was held on Monday evening last, when there were present: Miss Melling (Secretary), Messrs Kirkby, McNaught and Steel. A letter from the Railway Department, giving notice of the termination of the lease of the land on which the library stands, was read and discussed, and it was decided to defer the matter with a view to ascertaining the possibility of obtaining a site in the township. In the meantime it was pointed out that the building could readily be removed to a temporary site pending final definite arrangements. Messrs Kirkby, McNaught and Steel were appointed a committee to interview property owners, and endeavour to secure a permanent site. A further meeting is to be held on Friday evening, October 18th, when the report of the committee will be submitted.
