STOCK SALES.

* ———— The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company report as follows: — On Monday, September 16th, we held a clearing sale at Tauwhare on account of Mr Geo. Eyre, there being a large attendance of buyers and keen competition. Three hundred hoggets made l6s id, 450 hoggets 13s lOd, 200 ewes and lambs £1 os 6d, 35 2year steers £3, 60 18-months steers £3 7s, 40 18-months heifers £2 12s, 30 yearling heifers £2, store cows £2 ss. Draughts brought good money, and all the farm implements, tools and sundries realised satisfactory prices. At Hamilton on Thursday, September 19th, we sold everything yarded at prices much ahead of late sales. Steer beef made £9 to £lO, good cows £7 15s, heifers £6 ss. Sheep sold well, making up to £1 10s 6d for choice mutton and £l 7s to £l 95 for smaller sorts. Pigs sold at satisfactory prices to vendors. On Saturday, 2ist inst, at Te Awamutu sale, v, r e had a full yarding of cattle. Dairy cows (unless close to profit) were rather dull of sale, those sold bringing £5 15s to £8 10s, heifers £3 15s to £4 ios. 180 cattle, though rather poor, sold readily, Mixed 3 r earlings £1 15s to £2 is, others £1 7s 6d to £1 lis, 2-year-old heifers £1 16s to £2 ss. A large number of pigs were offered, but were rather dull of sale. Slips I2s to 16s, small pigs 8s to 10s 6d. The usual quantity of sundries sold satisfactorily, the best sorts of potatoes bringing 12s per sack.
