An innovation with regard to improvements on crown leases is outlined in the amended Land Bill. A new clause has been inverted in committee providing that if improvements are carried out, or are proposed, the holder of the lease is entitledj>to have their nature, and the previous condition of the land, recorded by the Commissioner of Crown Lands. _ The Commissioner will be entitled to verify the fact at the expense of the lessee, and a record will then be permanently preserved by the Commissioner, and shall at all times be receivable as sufficient evidence of the facts therein recorded in all matters touching the value of impovements made upon the land.
