The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company report as follows : On Tuesday, August 13th, at Ohaupo, we yarded 600 odd head of cattle, and over 2000 breeding ewes, hoggets, and fat and forward ewes. The prices for young cattle and other classes improved as several ontside buyers were present, and every pen sold at the hammer or afterwards. Sheep.—4so shorn hoggets 14s 2d, culled hoggets lOs iod, woolly hoggets 16s 6d, 400 long woolled ewes in lamb 18s 6d, 520 cross-bred ewes 18s 4d to 19s 7d, fat and forward ewes lis 3d, cross-bred wethers 16s 6d. On Wednesday, August 14th, we held a clearing sale on the property of Mr C. J. Clark of Humera. Fiftyfive dairy cows brought from £5 5s to £8 15 s, 20 springing heifers £5 to £6 ss, young cattle £1 ss. Pigs.—Sows in pig £4 to £6. On behalf of Mr J. S. Browne and other clients : Dairy cows from £4 lOs to £9, store pigs 16s to 18s. Implements and farm sundries made full market prices. On Saturday, August 17th, we held a clearing sale of dairy stock and implements on the property of Messrs Casey Bros., Tamahere.' The dairy herd were the principal attraction, and was undoubtedly one of the best offered this season.
