TOWN OF HOROPITO.
From reports received the sale of the above new township, situate en the North Trunk railway line, in the centre of the great Waimarino forest, which Messrs Macdonald, Wilson and Co., of Wellington, in conjunction with Mr T. Mandeno Jackson, of Auckland will conduct in the latter city on the 24th. instant, is attracting considerable attention throughout the northern portion of this Island. The Horopito railway station, which is also to serve the important township of Raetihi, is approximately 208 miles from Auckland and Wellington-mid-way-and will be the culminating point where Auckland and Wellington will meet on a railway mileage competing basis, for the trade of the great Waimarino Country in the centre of which it is situated. The town has has been subdivided into some seventy-eight town and suburban sections altogether, seventy-four ranging in area from a quarter acre to four acres and four small farm sections ranging from 10Yz acres to 29% acres. The township has been cleared and laid down in English grasses, while the land is flat and ready for immediate building operations. It is interesting to note, in connection with this new township, that many temporary buildings have been erected and business has already been created by a nnmber of men who are, it is stated, waiting for the auction sale to take place in order to purchase building sections. Other details will be found in the advertisement of the sale appearing in another column, and plans can be obtained from the auctioneers or at the office of this paper.
