PROPOSED TOWN BOARD FOR TE KUITI.
The committee elected for the purpose of discussing the advisability of forming a Town Board, for Te Kuiti, met in Hetet's Saturday night last. Mr F. H. Sims presided, and there was a good attendance. The report of the sub-committee, which was placed before the meeting included the following recommendations : —(i). That a Board be formed under " The Town Districts Act,'.lßßl." (2). That the boundaries of the proposed town be the same as the Te Kuiti Native township. After some discussion the first recommendation was carried. The question of boundaries was then introduced, and Mr Mordaunt moved as an amendment to the sub-commit-tee's recommendation, that the boundaries be enlarged, so as to include the Te Kuiti village sections, on the eastern side of the river. After several. of the committee had spoken on the subject, the amendment was put and carried. It was decided to call a general public meeting for Monday, July Bth, and place the proposals before the residents,
