A committee meeting of the Te Kuiti Football Club was held on Tuesday evening, when it was stated by the ground committee that the work of clearing and ploughing the new ground would be completed next week, and the field would Jin all _ probability be ready to play the Piopio match on. It was decided to hold the Club race for Mr Chilcott's medal on June 29th, the nomination fee to be is, and handicaps to appear on June 27th. The question of holding a social was discussed, and it was eventually agreed to hold a euchre tournament next Tuesday evening and hold a social at as early a date as could be arranged. It was decided to hold a general meeting on Thursday evening.
The King Country Rugby Union at Taumarunui has already^chosen players, with a view to selecting a team to play against the Maniapoto representatives.
At Manunui, last week, the local team beat Kalcahi by 3 points to nil, after a good game, and Matapuna triumphed over Taumarunui, on the former's ground by 14 points to 10 points.
