The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile .Agency Co., Limited, report as follows : On Tuesday last we yarded over 300 head of cattle. There was a good attendance, but competition was dull at the hammer, 110 doubt owing 1 to the turnip crops in many eases being a failure. With the exception of a few 2 1 7-year-old steers, and a few forward bullocks, all were sold before leaving'the yards at the low values I'll ling' at recent sales. The 2700 ewes from Kangitikei, though looking lired after the. journey here, were a good line and all sold excepting I(>t) aged ewes, but at a considerate reduction in price e >inpared with oni sale of the 0(1) i.ist. The entry of active and heavy draughts was better than at any previous Ohanpo sale, and a credit to the surrounding districts.
